Job Purpose and Impact

The Derivatives Operations Analyst will perform a range of moderate-to-complex time sensitive daily derivatives activities using comprehensive listed derivatives and over-the-counter (OTC) cleared operations knowledge.

Using independent, critical problem solving skills, this role works within a 24 / 6 global team and collaborates with internal and external business partners on day to day business operations and to drive continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform daily derivatives operational activities, including trade matching, reconciliations, position management, and life cycle events.
  • Manage operational tasks in a timely manner across a follow-the-sun 24 / 6 global team, liaising with traders, functions and external business partners to communicate and address issues.

  • Monitor and manage system processes, including the end of market and end of day runs for exchanges, report & extract generation, system feeds, reference & static data, and error analysis & remediation action.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Produce metrics and KPI reporting for daily operations and ensure performance targets are met and improve through the continuous improvement of processes.
  • Ensure documents such as daily check-lists and desk procedures are followed and kept up-to-date and provide feedback on ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of end to end processes.
  • Other adhoc derivatives activities as required from time to time.
  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Good experience in exchange listed futures, options and OTC cleared derivatives and other relevant financial instruments, with an emphasis on commodities.
  • Proven system and operational knowledge of the end to end trade-flows and trade life cycles of exchange listed futures, options and over-the-counter cleared derivatives from trading to clearing and all post trade activities.
  • Ability to apply operational expertise in identifying and addressing financial and operational risks with solid decision making and follow through on procedures and controls.
  • Practical experience and understanding of working in a regulated derivatives environment with compliance and control teams.
